Colombiamoda, along with Rio Fashion week in Brasil is quickly becoming one of the leading fashion weeks in the southern hemisphere, particularly when it comes to bathing suits. The Tribal Trend is something that’s not particularly new, but with innovation on a luxury designer’s side, the end product is tres chic and up for the running. L*Space Swimwear has done just that this season, with influences that ultimately formed one of our favorite looks for 2011 bathing suits: The Tribal Luxe.

Lea Michelle at the Emmys

As you know, at TheOrchidBoutique, we’re suckers for a good awards show and Sunday night’s 62nd Emmy Awards was certainly no exception. Though Jimmy Fallon made us laugh all night and we were so happy to see some of our favorite shows win deserved awards, our favorite part was admittedly the Red Carpet show before the actual awards ceremony.

We love watching the celebs walk the red carpet and last night was definitely no exception. One of our favorite trends that we were seeing everywhere last night was ruffles. We fell in love with Lea Michele’s gorgeous flamenco-style dress by Oscar de la Renta and she looked simply radiant in this girly look (no doubt helped out by the fact that yesterday was also her birthday!).

Orchids are exotic flowers with usually vibrant, vivid colors. They are exclusively able to grow only under specific temperatures, with all the elements being just right for them to bloom. They are wild delicate plants, but also quite bold in their representation of color. Orchids are distinct. Their characteristics are our inspiration for naming this boutique. Our goal is to offer a unique source for designer swimwear that is exclusive and exotic. Apparently just like Halle, we name our essence after a striking organism. Not only cool to emulate its characteristics, but also to smell like one.
