Monokinis – A Girl’s New Best Friend
Monokini one pieces are one of my favorite styles that bloomed these past couple of years. I’m happy to see that sexy has been embraced on a chic level. I feel like there is a fine line between a sexy swimsuit and a slutty swimsuit (trust me, they exist!), and monokini’s draw that line. The key is to find a monokini with cut outs in modest places, that way you’re stylin’ while keepin’ it classy. To me, monokinis were specifically put on this earth to give the one piece silhouette a good name.
I’m not the only one who loves monokinis either. A lot of celebrities have been spotted in this style, including Sofia Vergara, Kim Kardashian, Kendra Wilkinson and Coco (the one that ICE loves). These celebs, as well as many others, knew what they were looking for when they rocked their monokini one pieces, and I want to help you be just as sure as they were!
The classic ‘I want to cover my imperfections’ monokini is Lacey Cats designed by Maaji Swimwear. The bandeau top has padding to give you that supported lift, while tying in the back with thicker straps. The eye-catcher on this monokini is the cut outs on the side, extending through the back to create the illusion of a two piece swimsuit. The bottom gives you a cheeky look to continue with the sexy chic vibe.
While some of you buy monokinis to cover parts of your body, there is also the select few of you that wear them to actually show off more of your body. I tip my hat to you, ladies, as you are brave enough to embrace the ultimate sexiness in swimwear. I found Bendito Eighties designed by Agua Bendita Swimwear to be the top contender for you. The cut out design at the center of the torso is so uniquely revealing, making a two piece bikini look like a snooze fest. The bottom also gives a shout out to the booty with its moderate coverage. Other than the vibrant colors, my favorite detail about this monokini is the embroidered detail down the center – truly gorgeous!
