Katy Perry's Feminine Physique in a Pink Polka Dot Bikini

Pop star Katy Perry is a born and raised California Girl who knows her swimwear style. The red hot singer has changed her hair color to match her fiery attitude – can you say ginger! Katy took some time in between stops of her California Dreams tour to visit our hometown, Miami, where her hubby Russell Brand is filming Rock of Ages.

Relaxing poolside, Katy wore a pink bikini speckled with black polka dots. Known for her quirky sense of style, Katy consistently chooses items which fit and flatter her feminine physique – and this suit is no exception! We love the combination of her new red locks and the pink swimsuit!

Katy’s Miami recess fashion is truly retro and has an underwire swimsuit top for support and style. Her hipster bottom is surfing right along with the trend and even adds a tiny bow detail in the front.

Peachy Lucky Hit by Maaji Swimwear was worn by Mischa Barton

As always, we strive to emulate Katy’s Teenage Dream appeal, and inspired by her pink polka dot two piece we’re recommending the “Peachy Lucky Hit” by Maaji Swimwear. Also a retro favorite, this suit is no stranger to the limelight as it was spotted on The OC actress Mischa Barton this season. Like Katy’s suit, the Peachy Lucky Hit features an underwire top and a hipster bottom. Love the sweet bow detail on Katy’s bikini bottom? Peachy lucky hit has that too – a dainty bow at each hip!

Katy Perry is on fire lately. Shall we say, she’s quite the firework! She’s on a massive tour and continues to pop out the hits! Katy is always pushing the boundaries and not afraid to bare it all. Come on, you remember what happened on Sesame Street! She’s got the talent, the spunk, and she screams girl power. Her sense of style is a force to be reckoned with, and last week she hit it out of the park again. She was spotted wearing this absolutely adorable retro pink dress. This dress is too cute to not talk about. Luckily, those floral appliqué’s she has on her dress reminded us of an appliqué swimsuit by Agua Bendita Swimwear.

Bendita Francia by Agua Bendita Swimwear

The Bendita Francia bikini by Agua Bendita, while not as pink as Katy’s dress, has little floral appliqués all over the top and bottom of the suit. This black swimsuit with a hint of lace showing through ties at the neck and back, and ties at both sides on the bottom. The bottom also provides moderate coverage at the rear. Did we mention it was also featured in Sports Illustrated Swimsuit 2011 edition? This string bottom with little flower embellishment is such a cute pinupy look. Kind of like Katy!

A Look We’re Loving: Sequins and Sparkles

Though the drama between Taylor Swift and Kanye West may have stolen the show at MTV’s Video Music Awards, sparkly dresses definitely stole the red carpet. Starlets and musicians came out in droves donning bejeweled, sequined, and embellished ensembles that we loved! A couple of our favorite looks came from the girl of the evening, Taylor Swift, and Katy Perry. Taylor’s look was a little more subdued, while Katy went totally over-the-top in an uber-sparkly mini-dress.

So what we adore in dresses, we equally adore in swimwear. Embellishments are going to be a huge trend for designer swimwear in 2010. One of our favorite looks comes from Agua Bendita’s 2010 line (coming soon):

This suit has sequins highlighting the gorgeous colors on this bikini. It takes a bright departure from the silver sequins we saw on the VMA’s red carpet by showing with a print rather than just plain silvery detailing. We love the sparkly look for any poolside or beachy event. Definitely a must have!
