When you were young, did you prance around your bedroom with a tutu on? We kind of did. Who would’ve thought that now, as grown adults, we’d get giddy with excitement when a couture designer comes around that incorporates a ballerina swimwear line with a bit of a punk twist? We’re talking of course, of one of our newest additions, Marysia Swim.
Ever since it’s debut on our swimwear boutique a couple of weeks ago, people can’t seem to get enough of the Tutu bikini in neon pink and white (left). The row of flowy ruffles channel the tutu look but with a subtle flair. In the runway at Fashion Week in Miami, it looked as if in this bikini you’re floating on air in an ethereal, swim-ready way.
Poland-born Maria Dobrzanska Reeves is based out of Charlston, SC and mixes southern charm, eastern European accents, and a ballet influence to create this chic collection of designer swimsuits. Having been a ballerina herself, Marysia (as she is nicknamed by her loved ones) has created a collection of two piece and one piece swimsuits with studs, bright colors, and elegance. Apart from ruffle trims and balconet tops, she does the high-waisted trend exceptionally well, allowing a curvier and more modest woman to still be fashionable in her swimsuit while concealing minor imperfections. Living in TN and considering myself a southern belle, I am in awe of these suits. The colors and pretty ruffles are so my style and would love to wear them to the lake next summer, lounging on the boat!

The best part of ruffles on the top of a swimsuit when you were younger is that when you put on a t-shirt or cover up, you had instant boobs! To this day, if they are the right kind of ruffle, I must have that suit!
Designers encourage those with less boobs to wear floral or ruffles upper body .for the illusion of more breasts…Its just a sexy look.

drink lots of water and selftanners are great

You can find all kinds of great products that give you a little glow. Try Nars. Its wonderful. You can find it a sephora

Great in concept, but in reality I feel the ruffle designs need a little tweaking.
there’s always room for improvement! here’s hoping future collections incorporate rmore ruffled details in their designs

Natalie I wish I knew! I know they almost always spray the models with makeup to give them that gorgeous color. I think I’m gonna stick to the spray tan, skin damage is a big no no.

sprays I don’t like because of the overspray, it makes them messy, I like the lotions as long as they look natural

ruffles are great, i think they add a very feminine touch to any outfit, including swim suits… i like the marysia ones, but loovee the patty cakes ruffle top on the betsey johnson collection!

They add makeup to their tan as well try something with a little gold tone .

they airbrush them with make-up to make them look perfect
I’ve done the Mystic tan, its great but you have to take care of your skin. Drink lots of water, moisturize, and exfoliate before you tan. You get all the glow and none of the damage. Just make sure you don’t let it develop for too long cuz you’ll turn yellow, lol.
that seems like alot of work for a tan and a chance of going yellow, no thanks

yeah, if you take good care of it, two weeks
mystic tan lasts about 2 weeks, depending on how well you take care of it
reapply after a week and all will last long time

Me and a friend did that once, she turned soo orange. Luckily I showered that night, and mine turned out alright.
I would die if I had to walk around orange or yellow, it all sounds to iffy for me
me too! and specially because you almost always spray tan just before you go to the beach or on a trip… could you imagine walking the whole time looking orange or yellow?!

With Mystic Tan or airbrush tan, streaking is minimal, and the overall coverage is even. With some formulas of spray tan, you should avoid water or sweating because they tend to run, but there are some clear formulas that allow you to work out, or what have you, afterward, without streaking.

My spray tan usually only lasts about a week, even when I take really good care of it, not sure why.

actually you could take really REALLY good care of your skin before you spray tan, exfoliate, moisturize… that actually slows down the shedding and makes it last longer

The white with the peach coloured ruffles is a really nice suit she looks great in it
