From the exuberant style New York Magazine calls “not for the faint of heart” comes Betsey Johnson’s 2009 collection of designer swimwear and coverup dresses. The whimsical, feminine, lively, and frill-friendly designer introduces her signature retro glam and pinup styles to her swimsuits. From underwire push-up tops, skirted bottoms, fuchsia lining, and colorful flower embellishments come a variety of mini collections inspired by the 50s and 60s glam. Among the favorites so far are the Chez Rose Bikini and Dress (below).
The entire collection’s coherence comes in the fun, feminine, flirty fashions that exemplify Betsey Johnson’s persona. The 2009 swimsuit collection is almost inspired by lingerie, but without feeling like you’re in your underwear when you wear it. You get the distinct feeling it was created to make you prance around your bedroom.
A great thing about the collection of cover-ups is that they all in essence, day-to-night wear. It is easy to wear a dress from this collection over your swimsuit and then go home, throw on some heels, add lipstick, and wear it for a night out. Our mind wanders into all the occasions that would be ideal to don Betsey Johnson’s dress cover-ups… in yachts, island retreats, cruise getaways, pool parties, and the list goes on.
But apart from the collections versatility, the best thing by far about these dresses is its price tag. While a regular Betsey Johnson dress can set you back $300-500 on average, our selection of coverup dresses are only in the $90-200 range. Affordable, fashionable, and sexy. Not a bad way to complement your swimsuit. Hope they have a red carpet at the resort you booked!

I cant get enough of the 50’s-60’s glam! The rose print is just too cute.
it is cute but to flowery for me
i think so too, would’ve liked a little more black
ya the flowers are to much like more black too
yeah so it would have more contrast, really make it pop
This collection was too sweet to resist I bought 2 swimsuits and loved them.
the fit is good on these?
is the fabric nice?
from what i can see ya but no sure
yeah i thought the same thing… it looks like it could be too thin
loving the retro look! betsey johnson pulls it off perfectly!
yes real pin up type stuff
I tried this on a store once and it looked better online than in person.. not one of her better looks I’d have to say
usually does look better in a mag or on line than once you get it on in a dressing room
yeah that’s why i think it twice before buying online
sometimes you have to take a leap of faith, you can usually return it
yeah but it’s a waste of time, what if you can’t afford to waste a week…?
that’s too bad… it looks nice on the photograph, but i guess that happens a lot
to much for me but I still try to by online even though it doesn’t alwasy work out
i love buying online, but its a risk you gotta take
me too it comes with its disappointments sometimes
i really think it twice before doing, looking at every little detail
This suit is cute the colouring is really hot, love the pink
the hot pink is nice, but i would’ve loved to se more mix and match options
it would pronably go good if you throw in some solids from other peices
yeah but i’d like to see what she had to offer
from the designer
she doesn’t really have solids, the fabric always has something to it…
now that cover up is kind of cute with that suit
Betsey Johnson’s 2009 collection of designer swimwear and coverup dresses this is about the cutiest set i have seen
very feminine and flirty fashions
i think those two together would be absolutely too much for me….
