First look: Nanette’s Papillon storyline

The Papillon storyline spells ‘island-chic’ theme. With bouts of bright colors and literal animal prints, the options are fabulous. Particularly loving the styles which come with ruffle frills, a sexy cutout silhouette and drawstring charms. This theme is not for the faint of heart.

The Central Park storyline

Originally inspired by the city girl travelling to a fabulous vacation, this print follows in the footsteps of Papillon. A peacock themed green with pops of fuchsia is a wow piece for a quick getaway. Particularly striking was this new monokini silhouette (right below) with the cutouts above the ribcage area, and the coverup tunic to match.

The Madison Avenue & Gramercy storylines

These two storylines reminisce of youth and whimsy, and bring the fun into Nanette’s resortwear line. We love how flirty and feminine the floral undertones of this one piece swimsuit combine with the crochet intricacy of the Gramercy coverup. These storyline cross the pink, lilac, turquoise and white spectrums, and encompass an easy-going, fun-loving feeling that makes us smile.

The Deauville & Riviera Stripe storylines

Finally, these two collections define the glamorous style of the sailor theme. Reminiscent of the 50s, this sexy trend salutes the pinup swimsuits of that era with a modern twist. Absolutely love the literal interpretation of the theme with the anchor embellishment mid-suit. We also love the striped high-waisted bikini (very editorial) at the right, and also the color blocking navy-white combo in the high-waisted suit.

These hot newlyweds were caught in this romantic pose sharing a pecker on the lips during their tropical honeymoon. The couple tied the knot on August 12th in the gorgeous island of St. Barts.

After one divorce, having four kids (oh wow FOUR!), winning and also co-hosting Dancing with the Stars and managing her career, Broke still has amazing abs.. Not to mention her new husband [who we can we say is H-O-T!] is known as one of the cuties on the popular Baywatch cast.

Looking at this picture, you might be wondering what the first thing we notice is…well, it’s not the beautiful background scenery, not the passionate kiss, not the tightly wrapped hug, and definitely not her butt… but the fact that she chose THE swimsuit color for 2012: coral. Designers have already started applying this hot color to their new season collections.

Justin and Selena recently vacationed together in Maui, Hawaii, along with their families, for some sun and sand. But from the looks of it, it seems as though the couple had a little more than sun and sand. I mean let’s face it: much to the chagrin of millions of tween fans, the guy seems whipped. There. We said it. He looks head over heels for the girl. Just the body language at red carpets and awards spells tension, of the sexy kind. And as for her, well she is dating the most sought-after undeveloped man-boy in the free world, isn’t she? We think she’s also in the love-bug wagon!

Of course, the proof is in the pudding. During their vacay, the two were seen jet skiing, parasailing, and groping. Yep, groping. The teens were photographed throughout their vacation kissing and hugging and just all over too much PDA on the beach, off the beach, and everywhere in between. In the most salacious pic, Selena was seen with her straddled around Justin, OMG. Of course as teens in love, we’re assuming there’s little room in one’s mind for the thought that maybe, just maybe, since both of them are mega superstars, there’s a chance there might be someone capturing your private moment. And well, there was. Several of them.

We’re not here to judge or applaud , we’re playing Switzerland when it comes to the PDA. But you know what we’d love to comment on? How great she looked in a bikini. First of all, we love that she chose a bandeau swimsuit, which is perfect to avoid neck tan lines. We also love the color. Anything plum, hot pink, or fuchsia complements her dark hair and fair skin flawlessly.

Rear-wise (as Justin might agree), she chose a very sexy moderate coverage bottom that sits low on the hips, hence referred to as hipster bottom. What we love about this Badgley Mischka style is that the draping design at the front serves to hide minor imperfections and exudes a gown-like flair. Option 1: Nile Lana One Piece

How cool is it to have a woman out there embrace her curves and love the way she looks? We dig it. And when that combines with anything swimwear, you know we’re in line to provide a comment!

SO HERE’S HOW WE WOULD STYLE HER…

Ok so here’s the deal: we get why they chose the white swimsuit. It’s kind of an eighties-Madonna-meets-Marilyn-Monroe moment, perfect for someone of her silhouette. The thing is, to us Sofia needs a bit more of spice in her wardrobe. With the vociferous voice and Latin roots, why not spruce up the look with some animal print?

If we were the stylists of this Beatiful people shoot, we’d keep all the main elements: one piece swimsuit, underwire top, and pinup look, but we’d put her up in something like the Nile Lana One-Piece by Despi Swimwear.

Option 2: Into the Wild Lover

This underwire swimsuit comes with the same Monroe-ish flair but adds some animal prints to the mix, just for the kick this diva merits. Actually, if we had our way with this, we’d push it further into something a bit more literal, like the Into the Wild Love One Piece. This sexy suit by Nanette Lepore Swimwear features a lace-up detail at the back and pushes up the pinup-style in a current way. Nothing like covering the areas you want hidden but still being able to play on your good side (ie, perky girls). If you’re curvy like Sofia, and like to dress to impress at the beach, opt for one of these.

Here’s the deal, we’re actually all for black swimsuits with the cutout sides, the peek-a-boo detail gives this type of suit a flair about it. The fact that it’s not a two-piece bikini and not a one-piece (but something in the middle) definitely makes it original. Of course, the see-through factor is a bit much in this case, cause you know there had to be some photoshopping up in the bust area. So for us undercover bunnies who like to be sexy without going overboard, a good option to consider is the Show Off Black Monokini by L*Space Swimwear.

This sexy 2011 bikini features a similar lace-up detail below the bust, plunging cutout sides, and halter top style, but without the fishnet mesh. Hey Karina, we love your dancing and your kind of sweet-sounding voice, but if you’re thinking of hitting the beach in style, you’re going to want to go for like something like this!

The great thing about denim is that is not limited to just jeans. Denim-inspired bathing suits are all the rage these days, and the new collection by True Religion Swimwear embodies ths look fabulously.

Our favorite pick of the season is the Jeanius One Piece by True Religion. The denim-inspired brand brings their signature horseshoe staple, gold jean buttons, and rugged embroidery finishes to their water-ready garments. To us, the best part about the True Religion swimsuits is that the ‘denim’ look is achieved by disguising superior spandex (ie, swimsuit fabric) with jean-like fabric . The texture and feel makes it feel so denim-y, but really the swimsuit spandex stretches and fits the body snug.

The super cute “u” embroidery in the bottom rear and the frayed hem down the torso give this one-piece swimsuit a rock and roll flair. If you’re more into two-piece bikinis, try the Jeanius Halter. This halter swimsuit features the same iconic ‘u’ shape at the top and frayed hem. It’s boho, rocker, and all TR.

Let’s face it, the great thing about teal is that just like purple, it’s versatile and looks great on any skin tone. From the palest blonde to the darkest brunette, a teal accent or outfit can make a gal shine. We are in love with this color and the subtle versatility it shines with. One of our favorite designer swimwear brands, L*Space Swimwear, has debuted a brand new High Summer collection that embodies this trend.

Oddly enough, what the guy lacks in social skills (enter: MTV Music Awards circa 2009), he makes up for with fashion sense. This time, he seems to be very on trend with a look that has us going ga-ga: red with gray. At first thought, we can see how using an opaque color like gray could clash with red, but actually, it has its little charm about. The gray is not as severe as say, black, and it still makes the red pop.

Spring is upon us, though, and college kids north of the Mason-Dixon are packing their Vitamin-D-deficient, winter-coat-covered nether regions south for Spring Break 2011. How Much Hair Needs to Go?

Brazilian Cut Bikini

The wax: Brazilian

Description: Removes all the hair from your booty, cleans up the bikini line, and leaves as much as desired up front. It’s a reverse-mullet, waxing style.

Why: Brazilian cut bikinis are narrower in the behind and show a lot more skin than their more conservative-covering counterparts. Brazilian waxes, likewise, make sure everything exposed is as smooth and hairless as the bottoms of your feet.

Hipster Bottoms & Boyshorts

The wax: French

Description: A hair-free bikini line and as much off the top as you’re willing to go.

Why: Hipster bottoms have sexy, low fronts and leave a little bit to the imagination in back. Since more of the tush is covered, keep the waxing focused on the curlies in the foreground – especially if you’re riding the waves in a super-low rise.

High Waisted Bikini

The wax: Bikini

Description: Upper inner-thighs only.

Why: The picture of pin-up sex appeal, a high-waisted bikini keeps all the flora and fauna covered.

Low Rise Bottoms

The wax: Playboy or Hollywood

Description: I’m not going to beat around the bush. It’s everything from everywhere.

Why: Low-rise bikini bottoms dip down – way down – and that means smooth skin is essential. Back-end coverage varies from bikini to bikini, but it’s safe to say that it’s going to be skimpy. Wax accordingly.

String Bottoms

The wax: Bikini, French, or Brazilian

Description: Depending on how “string” your string bikini is, you’ll be making appointments for everything from a trimming the hedge to excavating the garden.

Why: String bottoms encompass everything from thin strings to tie sides, thongs to hipster boy shorts. The amount of skin showing will vary depending on the different cuts, so any bushwhacking you do will be at your own discretion.

Monokini

The wax: Tiffany Box (and other sassy patterns)

Description: Feeling creative? Dyes, jewels, and interesting templates spice up any remaining down-there hair. The Tiffany Box is a small square of hair that is then died the iconic robin-egg blue. What shape do you prefer?

Why: Monokinis specialize in plunging necklines and intricate cut outs – and not necessarily barely-there bottoms. Our advice: take advantage of the extra coverage.

Skirted Bottoms

The wax: French

Description: Follicle-free on the bikini line, and some extra shaping on top in the event of low-rise bottoms.

Why: This is not your grandma’s skirted bottoms. They are fun, flirty, and feminine, while offering ample coverage for your business. Keep the waxing in the front and you’ll be just fine.
