Designer Mirla Sabino’s swimsuit line ANK came in with a splash at Miami Fashion week on Friday, July 17th at the Raleigh Hotel. And we must say it fell nothing short of classic couture. Among the leading color trends are deep grays, fuchsias, and black tones combined with plunging necklines, bandeau tops, and brazilian cuts. Characteristic in the ANK line were also two trends that will be hot hot hot for 2010: the scalloped edge and ruffle trim.
The collection’s triangle tops, bandeaus and halters speak swimwear, whereas a slate gray monokini with draping across the bodice is more reminiscent of an elegant gown. Some other noteworthy items include suspender trims, multicolored stones, and gold and silver-plated hardware that stays cool to the touch. Mirla Sabino also exposes her brazilian roots in scalloped edges that mimic the undulating waves of the sea.
We must say we are also in love with the signature ANK resin detail at the bustline, made famous by their turquoise heart style from previous lines and now revamped for 2010 with a fuchsia butterfly, a definite must-have!
